SPC & Quality Analysis

SPC Vision provides all of the quality analysis required to make quick and meaningful decisions. The system provides data on the complete enterprise, so in addition to 'local' data, process managers, have visibility of incoming product data which greatly enhances their ability to effectively manage the process.

Manages process 'exceptions'

  • Non-conformances, alarms, trends, etc are detected and highlighted real time. Action can then be taken to rectify process problem before more waste is created or further value is added to the products concerned.

Promotes ‘preventative’ process control

  • One of the goals of SPC Vision is prevent defects, and other forms of waste from occurring by detecting early warning signals from the process, and taking action before the waste has been created. This can be achieved using SPC techniques. In the real world, this is not always possible so the next best thing is early detection and action (see above).

Provides process performance measure

  • Typically, most companies measure the performance of their processes by comparing good against waste product. This is a reactive measure, and very few companies really understand how capable their processes and machines are of consistently achieving customer requirements. SPC Vision provides the analysis which really enables you to understand and compare different processes and machines. Armed with this information you can identify which machines / products require improvement and which machines are most suitable for manufacturing a specific product.

Increases process learning and understanding for process improvement

  • In order to improve a process you first need to quantify the current performance (see above). You can then begin the process of understanding and controlling the key inputs to the system which are known as the key characteristics. SPC Vision makes this process much simpler by recording, analysing and correlating key process events, process conditions and product measurements.
